Growing up in my childhood home, we had a dog, and being honest, it was great to hug and love on our puppy Diamond, but as a young girl the chores to having her was horrendous.  My father brought the dog home and without a family discussion (in my opinion), he was our new pet, and I had the privilege of team participation.

I can hear the many voices, and I know "pet lovers", that it's a part of embracing pet life, having the fur baby in the home and the work that goes with it. Our dog was loved, but being transparent this kid, was not asking for a pet and then to be assigned to participate in the maintenance of one, was a season in life to remember.  This part is dedicated and being Shared for the many, who can relate to being assigned, in love, to the work of maintaining the family pet, lol.

This Cat and Me?!

First, allow me state;

Donyale Likes, Our Cat Phoebe, she is loved, and she is a part of our family, and brings this heart personal joy.



But, 


Donyale, also believes in being Transparent. Phoebe our cat, arrived in our home in 2014, a cute kitten, the new pet of our home, belonging to my youngest son, with Dad as the back up, in this process of training him how to take care of her.

Well...
First attempt at the litter, my youngest had an asthmatic episode to the litter, not the brand, any litter. The agreement followed, at that point that Dad would now take over, to maintain the basics of litter. With life changes, my son off at school and Dad is no longer with us, sooooo, once again the person who didn't sign up for a pet, now has been assigned to the maintenance of one. 



She has been a joy, since life has changed and I heard once, that pets pick us, essentially they are in our homes and share in the various seasons of our life, pets sharing in the moments that the present heart needs or is experiencing.

She has been a joy, in the midst of life changes.  I heard once, that pets pick us, essentially they come into our homes and provide love in the moments and for the various hearts in that home that needs it.

How to Make Reading Fun for Kids...
It doesn't matter if the Kids are your own, your grandchildren, nephews, nieces, the kids who visit, no matter who they belong to, making reading for kids fun, for this Heart starts with lots of Love and a Heart Open to Silliness, Laughter, being willing to becoming the Biggest Kid in the room.




Where does the time go?!

Those little guys are 22 and 19 to present day of posting this, in fact, a photo allows a travel back to a special Moment.  Seeing this photo, allows a pause to experience being in that room, sitting on that couch, remembering my husband Todd "who has transitioned, no longer with us, but truly missed" was the one who this photo, in fact went to get a camera to do so, not asked just choosing to "capture the moment".  




This heart is so glad that he did!

The Book "Mom Pie" was one of many favorites, it allowed me to read the book using my son's names in place of the characters in that book, when we create a moment with kids they never forget it, in their eyes it was a huge silly moment that I guarantee with travel forward for a lifetime.  In fact out of nowhere they will remind me of stories we've read together, my dear friend, no words to describe...Priceless!



A great book to read...
"MOM PIE" and numerous other books to choose from and that allow spending time together and creating memories that will last for a lifetime!

Great question...What is a Spiralizer?! What is a Vegetable Spiralizer?!



My Video, my share, my show and tell on the Spiralizer...



I don't know about you but eating at times can be boring, the same food groups and many times prepared the same way, with a variation here and there but not enough to bring excitement.


I thought what can I do to change that?!
First objective is that I need to remove "sodium" from my dietary, it just doesn't offer health benefits and as the years go on, it works against me instead of for me. So a no brainer but work is contained in being creative. 


Now it's difficult to remove salt all together, some things naturally contain sodium but you can do some creative things.


With that,
I've discovered some of my favorites could be just as tasty without it. Pizza was my first "wow factor". I couldn't believe how tasty the sauce was, JUST YUM!! I will be sure to share my recipe soon on Donyale Likes, for the Villagers who are "Pizza Enthusiasts" 



For me, if the food has the texture I like, offering the crunch, or the softness, and including "obviously" the taste with delicious seasonings or fresh herbs, it's a winner and the rest is not even missed, in fact you will lose the taste for salt, when you train yourself to cook without it and including adding it to any dish. 



My brother had prepared a couple of dishes and one of the photos he shared was Zucchini Noodles, not only was it appetizing to the eyes but the dish looked like it leaped off the page.

I believe most dishes start in that arena, the look, the smell, the experience, the location all adds to the delight of any dish, in my opinion. 



My brother shared the tool he had used "Spiralizer" and I'll add "Fabulous" and the rest is history. Including he was very kind to gift one for my recent birthday.  



Now with this wonderful tool, it has added to the joy of cooking creating new dishes, new healthy ways of eating. If you want to know...What a Spiralizer is or Why use a Spiralizer.  You are at the right location.
